REP. LOUIE GOHMERT: But I tell you, my heart also goes out to those, you know you say appealing to the Hispanic vote, I would say appealing to a certain segment of the Hispanic vote. My office helps a lot of people who are Hispanic, who are trying to do things the legal way. And it's really kind of a slap at all those Hispanics who are doing everything within their power to bring family members legally and do things the right way.

So you know, I know the president would love to have everybody illegally here vote for him. And there's certainly a great deal of pandering in that direction. But it ought to also cause anybody great concerns who are part of a party who see their future in power as tied to those who are illegally in the country and then a part of their movement is to make sure that felons can vote 'cause they figure that if felons would vote— What does it say about your party that you think your hope for the future are voters who are felons and people who are illegally here? Is that really the American dream?
