American Crossroads Attacks Carnahan With A Baby Swaddled In Health Care Lies
American Crossroads GPS, the "shadow RNC" 527 group tied to Karl Rove, has produced a second attack ad against Robin Carnahan that recycles familiar lies about the Affordable Care Act. This time, the lies are cleverly couched in soft-focus images of a baby and a woman's voice warns that the baby might not have health care because of "the Obamacare law that could raise our health insurance premiums and cuts billions from Medicare." Cute babies don't change the facts, though. The Affordable Care Act will lower premiums for most people, and far from cutting Medicare, it strengthens the program — all while lowering the federal debt by hundreds of billions of dollars.

American Crossroads' Misleading Attack On Robin Carnahan
American Crossroads, a conservative 527 group linked to Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, has produced a new ad attacking Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan for supporting the Affordable Care Act and for not supporting a lawsuit the state's Lt. Governor has brought forth aimed at stopping the implementation of reform. The ad accuses Carnahan going against the wishes of "71% of Missouri voters" who opposed the individual mandate. But the figure is highly misleading — only 23% of voters participated in the primaries and Republicans outnumbered Democrats two to one — and takes away from the larger issue: the mandate is both constitutional and vital to reform.

Rep. Roy Blunt Smears Robin Carnahan With False Attacks On Recovery Act
In Missouri, 7th district Congressman Roy Blunt is in a heated race with Secretary of State Robin Carnahan for the state's open U.S. Senate seat. On February 11, 2010, the 7th District Congressional Republican Committee released an ad smearing Carnahan for supporting the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that "failed to create jobs." In reality, the Recovery Act has created up to 2.4 million American jobs, saved 105,000 Missourians from poverty, and provided $638 million for Missouri's dilapidated roads and highways.
