Did Conservatives Even Listen To The Speech?
In the wake of President Obama's widely-praised first State of the Union address, conservatives were quick to attack the president's remarks on energy. The GOP, the oil industry, and the coal industry all criticized the speech for neglecting to focus on nuclear, offshore oil development, and clean coal, respectively. Had conservatives listened to the speech, they would know the president specifically addressed each of their concerns.

Clean Energy Technologies Are The Real Job Creators
In an attempt to piggyback on the White House's jobs summit, the oil industry's various front groups (American Petroleum Institute, Institute for Energy Research, and Energy Tomorrow) have attempted to position oil and natural gas companies as the ultimate job creators. In reality, investment in clean energy technology creates FOUR TIMES as many jobs as an equal investment in oil and gas.

George Allen Joins ExxonMobil-Funded "Research Institute"
George Allen recently announced the formation of the American Energy Freedom Center, a project of the Institute for Energy Research, yet another group attempting to fight efforts to stop the climate crisis with connections to Exxon.
