In a June 19, 2009 tweet, Fred Thompson quoted a Jed Babbin column that appeared on the conservative site Human Events. The tweet criticizes President Obama reaction to Iran's election; however, conservative foreign policy icon Henry Kissinger claims "the president has handled this well."

Fred Thompson Wanted Pork In The Constitution, But Doesn't Want Reimburse DC For Inaugural Expenses
On June 9, 2009, Fred Thompson posted a tweet mocking the federal government's decision to reimburse Washington, DC for costs associated with the Presidential Inauguration. However, when he was in the Senate, Thompson himself eagerly fought for pork for his home state. He even wanted to protect his earmarks for the Tennessee Valley Authority in a Constitutional amendment.
