Sen. Inhofe Lies On Fox News Sunday

During a December 13, 2009 appearance on Fox News Sunday, Sen. James Inhofe falsely claimed Rep. Ed Markey's American Clean Energy and Security Act passed "in the middle of the night on a weekend." In reality, it passed just after 7:00 p.m. on a Friday. The vote was scheduled for late-afternoon, but the House Minority Leader's "fili-Boehner" delayed the vote by over an hour.

The "Fili-Boehner" Delayed The Vote

The Republican Minority Leader's "Fili-Boehner" Delayed The Vote By Over An Hour.  As reported by Time in a blog post titled "The Fili-Boehner":

There's a privilege granted to leaders of both parties in the House to speak for as long as they want on the House floor on whatever subject they want. After nearly five hours of debate on the climate bill, House Minority Leader John Boehner took the floor around 5:30pm and began speaking about the 300-page chairman's amendment added to the bill at 3am this morning. After over an hour, Boehner relinquished the floor. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in the interest of saving time, curtailed her closing remarks to four words, telling members she believes this bill is all about, "Jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs." [Time, 6/26/09]
