Tea Party Express: NAACP Makes "More Money Off Race Than Any Slave Trader"

What better way to argue that the NAACP is wrong in passing a resolution renouncing racist elements in the Tea Party than for the national spokesmen of the Tea Party Express to accuse the well-known civil rights organization of making "more money off of race than any slave trader ever"?

Mark Williams, the controversial firebrand known mainly for his racist and unintelligible screeds, made the remarks in response to NAACP President Benjamin Jealous' challenge to the movement to "expel the bigots and racists in your ranks or take full responsibility for all of their actions."

A number of Tea Party leaders say they don't tolerate racist displays.

Williams contends that it's actually the NAACP that's being bigoted.

"You're dealing with people who are professional race-baiters, who make a very good living off this kind of thing. They make more money off of race than any slave trader ever. It's time groups like the NAACP went to the trash heap of history where they belong with all the other vile racist groups that emerged in our history," Williams said.

In May, Williams referred to Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, who supports the construction of a community center and mosque near Ground Zero, a "Jewish Uncle Tom who would have turned rat on Anne Frank."  Last September, he called President Obama "an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief."
