Rep. Gingrey Lies About Health Care Polling

The GOP's push to "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act is an uphill battle, relying largely on the notion that the American people have rejected the landmark reform bill that passed in March.  Speaking on the House floor last night, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) asserted that "in all polls taken" Americans "overwhelmingly" oppose President Obama's plan.  In reality, however, public opinion is shifting in favor of the Affordable Care Act.  According to a new Gallup poll, 49 percent say that passage of the bill is a "good thing" versus 46 percent who say it's a "bad thing."
