Rep. Gohmert: "We Gotta Do Away With The CBO"

Speaking on the House floor last night, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) attacked the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office for being "willing lackeys" of the Obama administration and for releasing numbers that Gohmert sees as being favorable to the Democratic Party's agenda. Gohmert - who has a personal gripe with the CBO because they did not score one if his health care reform bills earlier in the year - called for the CBO to be abolished altogether.

Gohmert: Their willing lackeys will help them. We gotta do away with the CBO. They're not fair. And I am sure, you know, having talked to Director Elmendorf, I really believe he means well. I believe he's trying to do the right thing. But the fact is they're funded by the majority in Congress.
