Gingrich Uses Nonprofit Group To Promote For-Profit Consulting Firm

In preparation for today's health care summit at the White House, Newt Gingrich's American Solutions is actively promoting a live health care discussion held by the Center for Health Transformation, a "corporate for-profit organization" also founded by Gingrich.

While this type of cross-promotion may be legal, it is definitely not in good taste.  When grassroots donors (or giant coal companies) donated money to Gingrich's American Solutions, they almost certainly didn't expect their contributions to fund efforts to promote Gingrich's separate for-profit ventures.

That's almost as unimaginable as a sitting RNC Chairman using his position to enrich himself by giving paid speeches. Oh, wait. Nevermind.
