Author Of Purported White House Memo On Climate Connected To Exxon And Koch Industries
The author of the memo, Joseph Johnson, is a Bush holdover and former fellow at the Mercatus Center.
Yesterday, the Associated Press reported: "An Environmental Protection Agency proposal that could lead to regulating the gases blamed for global warming will prove costly for factories, small businesses and other institutions, according to a White House document."
However, it turns out:
1. The memo didn't come from the White House.
2. The author of the memo, Joseph Johnson, is a Bush holdover and former fellow at the Mercatus Center.
So How Is The Conservative Mercatus Center Funded?
In 2004, when Joseph Johnson worked at the Center, it received $40,000 from ExxonMobil and $777,500 from the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, the beneficiary of an oil and chemical fortune. Apparently, $817,500 is the going rate for falsifying White House documents.
